Lifting Equipment

 Scotia Handling Service supply, hire, repair, service, inspect, test and certify lifting equipment. We have the largest choice of lifting equipment stock in central Scotland and the West Coast which allows us to deliver goods to our customers quickly. We stock the market leaders in our industry and ensure that every product we supply to our customers is of the highest standard.

Load Testing

 Scotia Handling Services prides itself on its ability to find testing solutions for all situations. Our qualified engineers have the breadth of experience required to efficiently and effectively test all equipment; giving our customers peace of mind that they are operating in a safe environment.


 Scotia’s qualified engineers are experienced in inspection of all lifting equipment and can provide this service efficiently to minimise disruption for our customers. Scotia’s excellent reputation is a result of over 30 years of providing a consistently first-rate service.

Online Certification

Scotia’s online certification system is easily accessed via our website using a personalised log in. This system can give you piece of mind that all your certification is stores securely online and can be accessed easily whenever you need it.


Lifting Legislation

 Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) are regulations under the Health and Safety at Work Act which govern people and companies who own, operate or have control over lifting equipment. LOLER requires that lifting equipment is subject to periodic thorough examination and all records of these examinations must be kept.

Test Weight Hire

 Scotia currently has in stock over 100t of calibrated steel test weights from 25kg hand weights to 2t block weights for load testing. All our weights are available for hire and we can include lifting cradles and boxes with slings to suit your lifting requirements. Our load cells can also be hired to be used in conjunction with the test weights to give real time evidence of the load weight.

Height Safety

 Scotia Handling Services supplies and inspects all height safety equipment, from restraint lanyards to the insulation of 1.2KM steel wire safety line systems. We can carry out 6 monthly inspections of all personal height safety equipment, harnesses, lanyards etc. Please contact our office to discuss your inspection needs and we can manage the booking of these to ensure that you are meeting your safety requirements. We are also a qualified service and repair centre for Tractel inertia reel and fall arrest blocks as well as all Tractel height safety systems and Faba rails.

Wire Rigging

Scotia Handling Services can supply and fit a range of marine, architectural and structural stainless steel rigging to meet your requirements. We specialise in the supply and fit of stainless steel wire rigging, for both residential and commercial use. Our main wire rope suppliers are Gunnebo and Sta-lok. Our team of engineers can swage any wire rope between 3mm and 16mm in our workshop, either in house or on site. We can also press ferrule secured eyes from 2mm to 28mm diameter wire and have these wires in stock. For bigger sizes please contact our sales team to discuss your requirements. All wire rope slings conform to the current British Standard.
