Scotia specialises in the supply and insulation of marine, architectural and structural stainless steel wire rope and solid rod rigging. Scotia has gained valuable knowledge of stainless steel rigging with over 25 years of experience in the market. Scotia Rigging Services was founded by our most senior director Alastair in 1988 on his return from the 85/86 round the world yacht race on board Dutch entry Equilty & Law. With his vast knowledge of yacht rigging, Alastair was able to specialise in marine yacht rigging and also diversify into both the design and insulation of architectural and structural rigging.

Scotia operates as one of the main Scottish agents for Sta-Lok rigging hardware, the global market leader in stainless steel rigging hardware, which enables us to supply rigging fittings of the highest calibre at the best possible price. Scotia rigging now operates as a specialist division of Scotia Handling Services Ltd, please contact us to discuss your rigging requirements.

Yacht Rigging

From a 12 foot sailing dinghy to a 60 foot offshore racing yacht Scotia has the machinery to swage stainless steel rigging terminals both in house and on site throughout Scotland using stainless steel wire to suit your dinghy or yachts standing rigging requirements. Our machinery can roll swage from 3mm to 16mm stainless steel wire ropes.

From our office in Linwood, Paisley PA3 3DR, we are located within an hour of all major marinas on the firth of Clyde and within 2 hours of the major West coast marinas further North and marinas on the firth of Forth. This enables us, through our fleet of vans, to offer be-spoke on-site insulations and inspections to yachts with standing rigging up to 16mm in diameter.

Architectural Rigging

Stainless steel wire balustrading is becoming ever more popular in modern architecture, both residential and commercially. Scotia has supplied and installed stainless steel balustrading across the United Kingdom for over 20 years. Either constructed with timber or stainless steel frame posts, wire balustrading not only looks the part but appears almost transparent to the naked eye because of the shiny stainless steel surface.

We have also supplied and installed rigging to support items such as street banners, museum dinosaurs and swimming pool flumes. Our engineers hold MEWP and working at height tickets so are able to install wire rigging in hard to access areas where a ladder or scaffold would not be suitable.

Structural Rigging

Scotia have supplied and installed many stainless steel wires in roof structures of buildings, both residential and commercial. These structural tension wires both strengthen and enhance the look of a buildings framework, whether it be steel or timber. We can also design and install be-spoke structural rigging systems, please contact us with your ideas and we will strive to engineer a structural rigging solution to suit.
